Klopp's men beat the Portuguese club 5-1 away from home before recording a 2-0 win at Anfield in the return leg.

Despite bagging a brace in the first leg and scoring another in the return tie, Sanusi is confident he can stop the Egyptian from shining this time around when they clash at AFCON.

Sanusi told Completesports.com: “I have played against Salah in his Liverpool colors twice this season in the Champions League and I am not afraid to play against him again. Though we lost both legs of UEFA Champions League, I was able to minimize his forays and reduce his influence in the two defeats.
“Having played against him, I am confident that we can keep him quiet and stop the Egyptians’ attack from hurting us. We have a young team and a good attack that can score goals, so the Egyptians should fear us too. I believe we can beat them if we get our tactics right.
“On if we can win 2021 AFCON, I will say we are among the favorites, but we have to try and qualify from the group first. We want to win and make our own history. It’s not going to be easy, but by the grace of God, we can make it happen.”

Niger clash with Egypt on Tuesday, January 11, in Group D.

Super Eagles Legend Okocha Reveals What Nigeria Will do to Salah At AFCON

Earlier, Sportsbrief reported that former captain of the Super Eagles Austin Jay Jay Okocha is feeling bullish about Nigeria’s chances in putting up a decent performance at this year’s African Cup of Nations.

Austin Okocha who was speaking to The Guardian has called for Nigerians not to panic siting the Super Eagles have enough good talents to prevent the former AS Roma forward from causing havoc.

Okocha has been appointed a member of the Technical Support Group recently put in place by the Nigeria Football Federation to help the Super Eagles campaign in Cameroon.

Nigeria arrived in the Cameroonian city of Garoua on Wednesday, January 5, with 25 players but will be missing key forwards in Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen, and Emmanuel Dennis who have all been left out of the team due to club versus country issues.

Nigeria has been paired alongside Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau in Group D.
