Kaizer Chiefs' second acquisition from the transfer market will be impressive Stellenbosch FC defender Zitha Kwinika.
This was revealed by the head coach of the Maroons, Steve Barker, during the club's annual end-of-season award ceremony last night. Kwinika, a graduate from the Amakhosi's youth set-up, was a big winner during the ceremony, walking away with the Player’s Player of the Season as well as the club’s Footballer of the Season gongs.
According to iDiski Times, Barker said:
“Zitha will go back to Kaizer Chiefs, he deserves everything of the best. We wish him well, but be aware, we’re coming for you [next season]. Zitha will go back to Kaizer Chiefs, he deserves everything of the best. We wish him well, but be aware, we’re coming for you [next season]."

FootballKwinika referenced the Cape Winelands in which the club is located with a poignant double entendre, saying:
"I came here as grapes and I’m leaving as wine”.
The 28-year-old defender made 56 appearances for Stellenbosch, scoring one goal. He’s also featured 76 times for Chippa United, whom he joined in 2015, and another 34 for the former Bidvest Wits.
Amazulu's Siyethemba Sithebe was the first player to join the Amakhosi after signing a pre-contract with the club, which caused much controversy at the time as reported by TimesLIVE.
The matter of Dumisani Zuma's troubled time at Kaizer Chiefs has taken a more sinister turn.
As reported by Sports Brief, the 26-year-old midfielder was mysteriously suspended for a second time by the club recently.
This was after he was put on ice back in November last year after facing charges of alleged drunk driving.
