Sevilla midfielder Fernando Reges could be in trouble with La Liga authorities following his sending off in the loss to Osasuna on Sunday, February 26.

Fernando's comments towards the referee when he was being substituted must have been heard by the fourth official, who then reported the incident.

According to Football Espana, the referee came over to send Fernando off. The Brazilian stood in shock, confusion and fury before shouting unprintable words at the referee.

Some Sevilla officials tried dragging the Brazilian midfielder away from the scene but to no avail as he continued ranting at the referee.

Although there has been controversy in Spain over the inconsistent handling of player insults directed at referees, the fact that it was noted in the report will hurt Fernando.

La Liga to slam four-game ban on Fernando

Meanwhile, Sevilla midfielder Fernando Reges is expected to be slammed with at a four-game ban for his verbal attack on referee Juan Luis Pulido, Yardbarker reports.

If Fernando is found guilty by the league, he could now miss Sevilla's upcoming league games against Atletico Madrid, Almeria, Cadiz, and Getafe in the coming weeks.

The midfielder is, however, set to play in Sevilla’s crunch Europa League tie against Fenerbahçe as his ban does not affect his playing in European competitions.

Sevilla goalkeeper fights back after getting attacked

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic had to restrain a pitch invader after the fan tried to attack him in a dramatic finish to the Europa League clash against PSV Eindhoven.

The ugly incident occurred near the end of a dramatic second leg, with the Dutch side defeating the Spanish side but still failing to progress to the Round of 16.

Dmitrovic was approached by a PSV fan who threw a punch before being wrestled to the ground by the Serbian keeper.
