Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has been dealt a devastating blow following an injury he suffered at training.
Gini Wijnaldum sustained a fracture to the tibia in his right leg during Roma’s training session ahead of their home game against newly-promoted Cremonese.
The former Liverpool midfield linchpin made his debut for the Giallorossi last Sunday following his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.
The 31-year-old made a cameo appearance as Roma recorded a narrow win over Salernitana and was set to earn more game time against Cremonese.

However, the injury setback has ruled him out of the tie while also putting his participation at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in major doubt.
Wijnaldum's Netherlands are pitted in Group A along with African champions Senegal, South American nation Ecuador and hosts Qatar.
According to Roma, the player will undergo further tests to ascertain the extent of the injury and reveal a return date.
"Following an injury sustained during training on Sunday afternoon, Georginio Wijnaldum subsequently underwent medical tests that confirmed the presence of a fracture to the tibia in his right leg," a statement on the club's website read.
"The player will undergo further assessments in the coming days."
