Ghanaian teenage star, Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan has donated a signed jersey to former Italian Ambassador to Ghana Giovanni Favilli.

The AS Roma starlet together with his agent Oliver Arthur met the diplomat for dinner and spent some quality time together on Saturday.

Before visiting the ambassador, Afena-Gyan featured in Jose Mourinho's 100th match as a Serie A coach his AS Roma side were held in a 0-0 draw at home to Genoa.

Ambassador Favilli was in the stands at the Olympico to watch the 19-year-old starts from the bench in the 57th minute to the relegation battlers.

Afena-Gyan got Genoa player Leo Skiri Ostigard sent off after the Norwegian defender could not handle the pace and power of the youngster.

After the game, Afena-Gyan presented a signed jersey to Ambassador Favilli and expressed his gratitude to the diplomat for his kind words and advice on his Twitter handle.

The former Ambassador was a key stakeholder in instituting the Calcio Trade Ball awards.

An award scheme organised by ArhurLegacy Sports to honour Ghanaian players who excelled in the Italian league.

Afena-Gyan's path to Europe

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, just a year ago, Felix Afena-Gyan had no idea he was going to be playing in Europe and as a matter of fact, Italy. But ten months down the lane, he is a star at AS Roma.

While in Ghana, he was just a school going boy with a passion for football and enormous talent and like many kids in Berekum, life was fun.

Afena-Gyan named fastest player in Italy

Ghanaian teen sensation, Felix Afena-Gyan has chalked another incredible feat in his young career after emerging the fastest player in the Italian serie A.

The 19-year-old was named the fastest player in the month of January after a very good start to the year with Italian giants AS Roma.

In a post on Twitter by Serie A, the young forward beat Lazio's Ciro Immobile and Juventus' Juan Cuadrado to emerge top of the quickest players in the league.
