The Real Madrid gaffer has never won the prestigious award previously in his career and was runner-up in 2014 losing the gong to then Germany coach Joachim Low who had won the World Cup.

Ancelotti will again be going for glory with Real Madrid as Los Blancos will tackle Saudi giants Al-Hilal for another opportunity to win the FIFA Club World Cup this Sunday.

Scaloni favourite for best coach award

Meanwhile, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has been tipped as the favourite to win “The Best” coach award ahead of Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola, Barrons reports.

Scaloni guided Argentina to their third World Cup title and the country's first in 35 years as La Albiceleste defeated France 4-2 via penalties in the final.

The 44-year-old manager is more likely to follow in the footsteps of Joachim Low and Didier Deschamps who won the award in 2014 and 2018 respectively after winning the World Cup.

Ancelotti in danger of being sacked

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Carlo Ancelotti’s second stint as Real Madrid manager could be coming to an end soon if the Italian manager does not turn around the club’s recent poor form.

Real Madrid has suffered a dip in form since after the World Cup, dropping eight points behind Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title this season.

Ancelotti runs the risk of being sacked if he fails to win the FIFA Club World Cup this weekend as the Spanish giants arrives in Morocco for the competition.
