La Liga have once again announced that they will investigate racial abuse levelled at Vinicius Juniors.

The Real Madrid attacker was targeted by fans and players of Mallorca during Los Blancos' last fixture.

An investigation into the matter

As noted by Managing Madrid, the league will conduct an investigation into who was responsible for racist chants heard within the stadium. La Liga has previously opened investigations into other incidents of racism directed at the player, but none of these investigations have produced any results as yet.

Mallorca fans mocked the player after the game, calling him an idiot and a big mouth. But as The Guardian reported, fans were also heard calling the player a monkey during the game.

More action against racists

Vini previously accused La Liga of doing little to solve the issue, and he's not the only one.

Former French international, Lilian Thuram said that Vinicius needed to be respected more, Marca reported, while Carlo Ancelotti also called for the player to be protected more as opposition players constantly try to antagonise him.

Sports Brief also reported that some fans of Atletico Madrid have taken a revolting dig at Vinicius Junior.

Fans hung a mannequin with the player's shirt from a bridge before the Madrid derby in the Spanish Supercopa.

The incident caused an uproar before the game, but Vinicius scored a late goal as Real knocked their city rivals out of the tournament.
