Carlo Ancelotti has offered a contrasting opinion to Thibaut Courtois' reason for why Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season.
Real Madrid had a dent in their unblemished run since the start of the campaign with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig securing a 3-2 victory over Ancelotti's side.
Assessing the performance of Madrid, goalkeeper Courtois was critical of his side's performance in their penultimate Champions League game at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday night.
“Today we have not been good at all and I think we have lacked many things, a lot of intensity. We came out asleep, without intensity and without aggression,” he fumed as quoted by Football Espana.

But in a sharp rebuttal, Ancelotti did not concur with the verdict of the Belgian shot-stopper despite statistics proving Leipzig outran the Spanish giants.
"Everyone has their opinion," the Real Madrid coach said via Tribuna.
"I didn't see the players relaxed. We were not focused during set pieces, we usually are more assertive. We were close to making it 2- 2, we didn't lack intensity.
"We are going to focus on what did not go well - the set pieces. We are usually better, but it can happen. We played the game in a way that we didn't want. It was better to play in a lower block, it was the opposite of what we had in mind. At 2-0, we had to play differently."
