Social media users came to the aforementioned conclusion on the back of a photo, which has since gone viral after surfacing on the internet on Tuesday, October 18.
In the photo posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, Valverde was spotted admiring the Ballon d'Or prize brought to the club's training grounds by 2022 holder Karim Benzema.
The viral photo has seen many online commentators tip the 24-year-old Uruguayan to win the most prestigious prize in football, drawing inspiration from a 2014 photo of Benzema applauding Ronaldo when he won the gong for the second time.
