Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has won a court case against Spanish media outlet El Confidencial for leaking his private audio.

According to Vozpópuli, the Real Madrid chief specifically insisted on being compensated just one euro to prove that the whole case was about respect and privacy and not about money.

Per the court, the audios are "completely taken out of context" and the online newspaper has exceeded its right to information, although Perez's right to privacy has not been violated.

Leaked Florentino Perez audio reveals extraordinary quotes

Back in 2021, El Confidencial leaked several audios of Perez in which the Madrid president was heard insulting multiple players and coaches, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Gonzalez, Iker Casillas, Jose Mourinho and Vicente Del Bosque.

It's unclear how El Confidencial got their hands on the audios. Before publishing the tapes, some journalists tried to blackmail the club for €10m.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez Involved in Heated War of Words With Li Liga Counterpart Javier Tebas

Sports Brief earlier reported that Florentino Perez, President of Real Madrid and Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, have been involved in a war of words of late, which escalated further after Madrid’s General Assembly.

As reported by AS, the Madrid president used a large portion of his speech to explain why the club needed to push ahead with the formation of the Super League - and fired a shot at La Liga while doing so.

He added that the league could not celebrate the sale of their product for the same price for the past four years without considering inflation. He also described football in general as being sick, and said that the beautiful game needed to take a page out of American football’s book.
