Real Madrid are proving that there’s more to football than just the game itself.
Despite all the successes on the field of play, the club are committed to helping causes that extend beyond football itself.
As reported by the Kyiv Independent, Real raised over $1 million for Ukraine over the past year.
The club collected the funds as part of their ‘All For Ukraine’ campaign and announced the total during their annual review of last season’s accounts.

The money was then donated to Spanish humanitarian aid organizations currently working in Ukraine and local partners on the ground.
Real are by no means the only club that have contributed to the cause. The English Premier League donated over $1 million to the Disasters Emergency Committee, with the individual clubs in the league making donations as well.
Ukrainian soccer legend, Andriy Shevchenko has also been working hard to raise funds for his home nation. Shevchenko recently became the first ambassador for UNITED24, a platform that collects charitable funds supporting Ukraine.
Shevchenko also recently presented Robert Lewandowski with a special armband in the colours of Ukraine, which the Polish captain will wear at the World Cup.
The Ukrainian legend explained that he wanted to present Lewandowski with the armband to thank him for his support and for calling for peace in Ukraine, the Daily Mail reported.

FootballRobert Lewandowski will show solidarity with Ukraine at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November.
The Barcelona striker, who captains the Polish national team, will wear a captain's armband with the Ukrainian colours on it.
Lewandowski was presented with the special armband by legendary Ukrainian player Andriy Shevchenko, Sports Brief earlier reported.
