Casemiro has insisted that Real Madrid will have no extra motivation when they face Liverpool in the Champions League final despite Mohamed Salah’s comments.
Salah is keen on getting his revenge against Real Madrid and has declared so publicly. He was part of the team that lost to Real Madrid in the 2018 final.
The Egyptian went off injured in the first half of the game. Liverpool went on to lose 3-1 thanks to a Gareth Bale masterclass. Revenge will be high on his mind when they face each other again in the Paris final slated for Saturday.
But Casemiro has remained unfazed over Salah’s desire to exact his mission.
I don't need any extra motivation to play in a Champions League final.
If that's what Salah thinks, well, we respect that, but we're not thinking about that. We're thinking about our game.
The Daily Mail reports that Casemiro’s comments were completely opposite of what his teammate Federico Valverde thinks.
Valverde mentioned that Salah’s comments were disrespectful to Real Madrid. The Uruguayan midfielder further added that his side will be motivated to win another trophy for their fans.
Both Casemiro and Valverde are most likely to start against Liverpool to tame the rampant midfield and attack that Jurgen Klopp’s side has.
The two sides will clash on Saturday with Real Madrid chasing a record-extending 14th crown. Liverpool will be gunning to lift their 7th crown.
