Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge was among the people in attendance at the Parc des Prices to watch the game involving Paris Saint Germain and Lille in the French Ligue 1.
Kipchoge, who is in Paris to take part in a marathon against the public to mark 1000 days to the next Olympics, was handed a special invite by PSG.
Prior to the match, the back to back Olympic gold medalist linked up with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe and photos of the pair have since made way to social media.
From the snaps shared on Kipchoge’s Instagram, the marathoner was holding a PSG shirt bearing his name with the number 7.
Kipchoge and Mbappe also exchanged boots and running shoes during their encounter.
The pair are largely considered to be the best in their respective fields, although Mbappe’s individual success is yet to be written in the history books.
The French star is on a steady rise to the pinnacle of the football game, and is among the 30-man shortlist to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.
For Kipchoge, he needs no introduction when it comes to marathons.
Not only is he the first human to break the first human to break the two hour marathon barrier, he won Olympic gold in 2016 and 2021 in Tokyo.
