Kipchoge, who is in Paris to take part in a marathon against the public to mark 1000 days to the next Olympics, was handed a special invite by PSG.

Prior to the match, the back to back Olympic gold medalist linked up with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe and photos of the pair have since made way to social media.

From the snaps shared on Kipchoge’s Instagram, the marathoner was holding a PSG shirt bearing his name with the number 7.

Kipchoge and Mbappe also exchanged boots and running shoes during their encounter.

The pair are largely considered to be the best in their respective fields, although Mbappe’s individual success is yet to be written in the history books.

The French star is on a steady rise to the pinnacle of the football game, and is among the 30-man shortlist to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

For Kipchoge, he needs no introduction when it comes to marathons.

Not only is he the first human to break the first human to break the two hour marathon barrier, he won Olympic gold in 2016 and 2021 in Tokyo.

PSG fight back to beat Lille in Ligue 1

Once the game got underway, it was Lille, last season’s Ligue 1 champions, who took the lead against a star-studded PSG side in a game where Lionel Messi was subbed at half time.

Canadian international Jonathan David scored his league-leading eighth goal of the season towards the end of the first half to give Lille the lead, but the visitors were pegged back in the final 15 minutes.

Di Maria lofted a perfect cross for Marquinhos to equalise and the Argentine then turned match winner after linking up with Neymar to strike in the 88th minute.

Kipchoge vs the public in Paris

Meanwhile, Kipchoge is set for a busy day in Paris on Saturday, October 30 as he will race a 5K on the famous Champs-Elysées.

Racers who will finish before Kipchoge in the 5K race will win spots in the mass-participation marathon scheduled to take place on the same day.
