Messi has scored 19 goals and notched 17 assists so far this season for PSG.

Sports Brief reported that Messi is not keen to remain at PSG beyond the 2022/23 season, with Barcelona determined to fight off interests from Al Hilal and Inter Miami to re-sign the Argentine superstar.

He left Barcelona in 2021 after the club was unable to renew his contract due to a slew of financial issues.

Messi responds to PSG heckling

Sports Brief also reported on Messi being subjected to jeers from PSG fans prior to another home defeat in the French top flight on Sunday.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has been in the bad books since the Parisians' last 16 Champions League exit against Bayern Munich.

Despite the taunts, Messi found the humour in the situation, amid continued rumours stating he will depart the club at the end of his deal.

PSG willing to keep Lionel Messi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the battle to secure Lionel Messi’s signature this summer promises to be good.

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker’s contract expires with the club at the end of the season, and Messi will become the hottest free agent in world football.

PSG are willing to break the bank to renew Messi’s deal as the French side has noted how Barcelona has stepped up its efforts to land Messi and are willing to offer him more money and a longer deal than previously suggested.
