Kylian Mbappe could still leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023/24 season despite recently signing a contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions.

Last year, the 24-year-old snubbed a move to Real Madrid to sign a contract with PSG until 2025 for €50million net per season, with a signing bonus of €100million.

According to Marca, Mbappe's PSG contract was extended but only for two seasons, with the possibility of an additional year.

France's forward has four months left to exercise that option for an extra year on his contract. If not, his contract with PSG will expire in 2024.

Mbappe will be free to negotiate with other clubs for a free transfer subsequent to January although PSG is working to get him to give the green light to this one more season with the Ligue 1 giants.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has been voted one of the best 11 players in world football as he makes the FIFA FIFPro World XI, named at FIFA's The Best awards for 2022, Goal reports.

Mbappe joins PSG teammate Lionel Messi and Achraf Hakimi, Karim Benzema, Erling Haaland, and Thibaut Courtois to be included in the FIFPRO World XI.

The FIFA FIFPro World XI is voted for by fellow footballers worldwide as the best players are selected for their performances in a calendar year.

Mbappe named the best attacker in the world

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier had showered praise on Kylian Mbappe following his heroics against Olympique Marseille on Sunday.

Mbappe and Lionel Messi combined devastatingly as PSG ran amok in the French version of El Clasico, dubbed Le Classique.

The Frenchman added another accolade to his already prestigious résumé at the tender age of 24, becoming PSG's joint all-time top scorer.
