Lionel Messi voted for Neymar Junior ahead of Kylian Mbappe to win the Best FIFA Men's Player Award.
Messi was announced as the winner on Monday for the second time, coming in ahead of his PSG teammate Mbappe and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
The 35-year-old received 52 points after all of his votes from national team captains, coaches, media and fans, while Mbappe came in second with 44 and Benzema got 34 points.
Who did Messi vote for?
Messi did not vote for any of his international teammates to win the award, according to FIFA.

Instead, the PSG superstar gave his top vote to his club teammate Neymar and his second went to another colleague Mbappe.
The Argentine magician, meanwhile, picked Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema as his third favourite to be crowned the best player in 2023.
PSG trio make FIFPRO XI
Three of PSG’s stars were named in the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 in 2022.
Defender Achraf Hakimi made the cut as did attackers Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
All three stars also enjoyed success at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Hakimi’s Morocco made it to the final four while Messi’s Argentina and Mbappe’s France contested the final.
Messi and Mbappe were also nominated as finalists for the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award, an honour Messi took home.

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has described FIFA as liars after Lionel Messi was named the 2022 best player at the awards in Paris, France.
Messi beat Benzema and French teammate Kylian Mbappe to win the FIFA best player award for the second time, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Ballon d'Or winner, Benzema feels the accolade was given to the wrong person after his stellar campaign with Real Madrid in 2022. The Frenchman won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League as well as finishing the year as top scorer.
