Argentina's World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has named Kylian Mbappe the "best French player" he has ever seen.
Martinez and Mbappe crossed paths at the 2022 World Cup final with the former having the last laugh in an epic showdown between Argentina and France.
Despite conceding four goals, including three penalties, the Argentine custodian pulled off an incredible last-minute save and made an important stop during the penalty shootout success.
The pair finished on the podium at the Mundial with Mbappe scooping the Golden Boot prize while Emi Martinez collected the Golden Glove award, per Eurosport.

Nonetheless, it was Martinez's celebrations aimed at Mbappe which raised eyebrows. He has since apologized and dismissed claims he made a mockery of the 24-year-old Frenchman.
Speaking about the incident, Dibu revealed his respect for the PSG starman while also describing him as the "best."
"I have enormous respect for Mbappe. And I'll tell you one thing: he's the best French player I've ever seen," Martinez told France Football as quoted by Roy Nemer.
Dibu predicts Ballon d'Or success
Aside from calling Mbappe the "best French player", Emiliano Martinez has forecasted future Ballon d'Or success for the PSG forward while providing details on what he told him after the World Cup final.
