Neymar’s return to the Paris Saint-Germain fold has not gone to plan.
The Brazilian attacker was looking to put his World Cup woes behind him and focus on continued success with the French side, but unfortunately made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Neymar was sent off in PSG’s game against RC Strasbourg after he picked up two yellow cards in the space of two minutes.
The Brazilian star was first booked in the 61st minute of the game after he caught Adrien Thomasson in the face while trying to escape the midfielder’s relentless pressing.

A minute later Neymar received his second yellow card and his marching orders after he was found guilty of simulation by the referee.
Kylian Mbappe fed a beautiful through ball into the box for Neymar and he went down, claiming to have been taken out by Alexander Djiku. There was no contact between the two players and Neymar was penalized for diving.
The timing of Neymar’s sending off could have proved costly for the French giants as both teams were level at one goal each when PSG were reduced to 10 men.
Earlier in the game Neymar set up Marquinhos for PSG’s opening goal and set a new milestone in the process. He became the first player in Europe’s topflight leagues to register at least 10 goals and 10 assists this season.

Mbappe was back in action 10 days after scoring a hat-trick in the final but then seeing the South Americans win in a penalty shootout.
PSG had Neymar sent off for two yellow cards as the Brazilian made an unhappy return to action following his country's elimination in the World Cup quarter-finals.
