Paris Saint-Germain can boast that they have a World Cup winner and a World Cup runner-up in their squad.

The French side knew that one of their stars would return with the trophy, but they never imagined that the final would be such an epic battle between their two stars.

Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the game and converted a penalty in the shootout, while Lionel Messi scored two goals and also scored in the shootout.

Mbappe went on to win the Golden Boot award while Messi was named player of the tournament.

PSG took to social media to thank their stars and praise them for being a part of an incredible final.

Their league form shines through

Mbappe and Messi have both enjoyed an excellent start to the season for the French side and it’s continued at the World Cup.

Transfermarkt confirmed that Mbappe has played 20 games for the Ligue 1 side, scored 19 goals, and notched up 5 assists.

Messi, on the other hand, has played 18 games, scored 11 games, and racked up 14 assists.
