Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer: Is CR7 leaving Manchester United and which clubs are likely to acquire him?
FootballMbappe Given Scathing Reasons Why He Will Never Reach Messi Level
- Kylian Mbappe has been brutally told he will never be on the same level as Lionel Messi
- Both players are in the frame for the World Cup golden boot in Qatar ahead of the Argentina-France final on Sunday
- According to one pundit, Mbappe’s game is heavily built on pace, which will eventually falter over time
Sport columnist Graeme Souness recently came up with a scathing analysis on why Kylian Mbappe will never be as great as some of the legends of the game including Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona.
Mbappe has been in typical scintillating form at the Qatar World Cup, with his five strikes so far helping his side to a second successive final in the global spectacle.
France will face Argentina on Sunday in the penultimate showdown, with Mbappe getting a chance to get one over his club teammate Lionel Messi.
The two are also competing for the golden boot as they both sit on top with five goals.

Because of the 23-year-old’s exploits on the pitch for both club and country, it is expected that comparisons have started to be drawn between himself and the likes of Messi and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Amid suggestions that the GOAT mantle will be passed down to Mbappe, Souness, who is known for his cut-throat analyses, begged to differ.
In his Daily Mail column, the analyst claimed Mbappe was heavily reliant on one trait for his brilliance –pace.
“I really don’t think we’ll be putting that 23-year-old in the same bracket as Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele and Diego Maradona, ten years from now.” He said.

Football"The biggest asset Mbappe has is that explosive power but this is as good as it will get for him. He won’t get quicker as he ages. Only slower. The big question, going forwards, can he modify his game as that pace diminishes?
Souness further suggested Mbappe having ‘so much power’ at Paris Saint Germain at only 23 will end up working against him in the long run.
“How on earth can it be right for a 23-year-old to have that power? I’m sorry if you think this old-fashioned, but that is just not a healthy environment for any young player’s professional development and improvement.” He went on.
Mbappe’s warning to Messi
Elsewere, Sports Brief reported on Mbappe’s warning to Lionel Messi.
The Frenchman has in the past openly expressed his desire to be the best, and possibly take over form the Messi-Ronaldo era.
"I think I’m about to win the Ballon d’Or. I always say I dream about everything. I have no limits. So, of course, as you say, it’s a new generation. And Ronaldo, Messi - you’re gonna stop. We have to find someone else, someone new," Mbappe said previously as reported by Sports Brief.
