Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is set to be a free man, after his trial in a Spanish court over fraud and corruption wrapped up.
Spanish prosecutors last week dropped the charges against Neymar, former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell. An investigation had been launched into the star's transfer from Santos to Spanish giants Barcelona.
According to Channelstv, the state prosecutor dropped all charges in court against Neymar and the other defendants, because there was insufficient proof of a crime being committed.
For his alleged involvement in the corruption, Spanish prosecutors had demanded that Neymar serve a two-year prison sentence and pay a fine of $9.9 million.

Brazilian Investment Company DIS argued in a 2015 complaint that Neymar, Barcelona and the Brazilian team conspired to conceal the true cost of his move, depriving the company of its lawful financial interests.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported on Neymar Jr and his co-accused appearing in a Barcelona court on October 17.
Neymar, his parents, former Barcelona presidents Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, former Santos president Odilio Rodriguez, and representatives from both clubs had all been charged.
Brazilian investment firm DIS, who owed 40% of Neymar’s rights while he was at Santos, claimed his transfer to Barcelona was undervalued and that he was sold to the Spanish club without their consent.

Meanwhile, Neymar played a starring role to help Paris Saint-Germain maintain their unbeaten start in Ligue 1, with a 4-3 victory over Troyes on October 29, Marca reported.
The Brazilian forward gave PSG the lead against Troyes for the first time to make it 3-2 for the French champions, after Carlos Soler and Lionel Messi dragged the Parisians back into the tie.
