14 football fans were arrested during Paris Saint-Germain's clash against Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Champions League last night (October 25).
While there were no major incidents of fan violence during the encounter, the game was considered high-risk and police were on high alert.
800 police officers were on duty at the game, as PSG were concerned that violence would erupt among the two sets of supporters.
As reported by Get Football News France, PSG were worried that their Ultras, who support Palestine, would clash with the visiting Israeli fans.

PSG bans Maccabi Haifa items
The club urged supporters in the stadium not to wear Maccabi Haifa shirts, and also banned supporters from wearing scarves or any accessories related to the Israeli club.
Flags of countries not represented by PSG were further banned from the Parc des Princes for Tuesday’s Champions League tie.
PSG were also worried that the Palestinian flag would be flown in the stands occupied by the Ultras, a move which could have caused tension with the travelling Israelis
Why were 14 fans arrested?
Thankfully, there were no reported clashes between fans, and most of the arrests were linked to the use of pyrotechnics in the stadium. One person was arrested for pick-pocketing Israeli fans, and another was arrested for insult.

Both sets of fans started throwing firecrackers and shooting roman candles at one another, Sports Brief earlier reported.
