El Nacional, via Sportskeeda, now reports that Chelsea and Manchester United have emerged as shock targets to sign the Argentinian.
A possible return to Barcelona has also been touted. However, Messi is said to be keen on getting to Qatar for the World Cup first before discussing his future.

Manchester City have previously been linked with the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, given the relationship they share with Pep Guardiola.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have the financial muscle to meet Messi's astronomical needs. Manchester United are currently involved in a tussle with Messi's great rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
