  • Defending French league champions PSG dazzled on their way to an impeccable 7-1 thrashing of Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy
  • PSG's attacking trio - Messi, Mbappe and Neymar - put in an excellent performance to dispel the purported feud in the camp of the Parisians
  • The results ensure coach Christophe Galiter's men maintain their 100 per cent start to the season

Paris Saint-Germain continued their purple patch to the French top-flight with a comprehensive win against Losc Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday, August 21.

A brace from Neymar laced with a hattrick from Kylian Mbappe in addition to solitary strikes from Acrhaf Hakimi and Lionel Messi gave the Parisians a third successive win of the season.

PSG wasted no time in announcing their intentions for the game when Kylian Mbappe scored from a Leo Messi assist just eight seconds after kick-off following a well-rehearsed team move.

Mbappe's goal opened the floodgates for the defending French champions as Christophe Galtier's charges bombarded Lille's defence with relentless attacks as the attacking trident - Messi, Mbappe and Neymar - took turns to test Lille goalkeeper Leo Jardim.

Lionel Messi will have his goal correctly ruled out for offside but the 'little magician' will have the last laugh when Nuno Mendes picked out Messi in the box, who quickly fired an effort into the bottom corner to double PSG's lead.

Marauding Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi will get among the goalscorers when he was put in a 1v1 situation by Neymar to put the game beyond the reach of Lille.

Neymar will crown his hard work with his first of the night after collecting a delightful pass before rifling an unstoppable drive inside the right post two minutes before recess.

Lille stepped up after their woeful display in the first half with Jonathan Bamba testing Donnaruma for the first time on the night, which resulted in a goal to reduce the deficit after Neymar had grabbed his personal brace two minutes earlier.

But things grew from bad to worse for the home side after Bamba's consolation in the 54th minute with Mbappe scoring twice in the last stretch of the game to maintain PSG's perfect start to the season.

Mbappe etches his name in French history with 8-second strike

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Paris Saint-Germain pair Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe combined to score the fastest goal in the history of the French Ligue 1.

The attacking pair combined to a devastating effect as Mbappe scored within eight seconds of PSG's league game against Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

In a video posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, Argentine playmaker Leo Messi launched a tailor-measured pass to the on-rushing Kylian Mbappe, who spotted the goalkeeper off his line before scoring a great goal by lobbing the ball into the yawning net.
