Sergio Ramos has praised Lionel Messi in what will come as a shock to many people. Ramos and Messi spent the better part of their careers on opposite sides during their days in La Liga.
But the two have since become teammates at Paris Saint-Germain, putting their long rivalry in the El Classico to rest.
Ramos was speaking after scoring a sumptuous goal against Nantes to help PSG win the French Super Cup. Messi was similarly on the scoresheet with another wonderfully taken goal.

Both Ramos and Messi joined PSG last summer after the Real Madrid and Barcelona contracts expired. It remains to be one of the biggest coups by a football club in one single transfer window that also saw them sign Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum on free transfers.
