  • Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe have met up for the first time since the PSG star rejected Real Madrid to sign a new contract with PSG
  • Both players have been included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games
  • Mbappe opted against a move to Real Madrid despite Benzema personally looking to convince him to move to Spain this summer

Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe joined up with the France national team on Monday ahead of their UEFA Nations League games.

Both players have been included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for a four-game mini-tournament in the coming weeks.

However, any chance of a frosty meeting between the pair was quickly dispelled on the first day of training ahead of the incoming matches.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Mbappe and Benzema shared a quick hug as the France squad arrived at their training base in Paris.

The Real Madrid striker was congratulated by all his teammates and also got to meet with Kylian Mbappe for the first time since he made the shocking decision to stay at PSG.

In the video, Benzema can be seen sharing a warm hug with the PSG striker – who is delighted to meet him.

This proves that there is no animosity between the two forwards, after many speculated about it following Benzema posting a picture of Tupac soon after Mbappe signed the new PSG deal.

The entire France squad can also be seen applauding Karim for winning the Champions League with Real Madrid.

Benzema is currently a top contender to win the Ballon d’Or award this season after playing a major role in Los Blancos’ successful campaign.
