Football fans have erupted on social media upon reports that Kylian Mbappe has decided to stay with French giants Paris Saint Germain, bringing an end to the long-standing saga involving Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s current deal expires this summer, and Real Madrid were heavy favourites to snap up his services from next season.

In fact, rumours suggested the 23-year old had agreed a deal with both PSG and Real Madrid, and it was up to him to decide the club he would sign for next season.

But a fresh twist emerged on Saturday, May 21, as it was reported by French outlet L'Equipe and

the renowned Fabrizio Romano, that no deal was forthcoming between Mbappe and Real Madrid.

This effectively means the Frenchman will continue to be a Paris Saint Germain player next season.

“Blown chance”

It did not take long before fans weighed in on the Mbappe situation, with many criticizing the young superstar for not sealing a move to the Spanish capital.

“He just never was a fan of Real, only of Cristiano, also if he win UCL for PSG it’ll make him more legendary than winning it for Real,” one fan said.
