The agent of Ousmane Dembele might have inadvertently sent the most obvious hint of the Frenchman’s next destination.
Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko, was pictured receiving a call from Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonard recently amid growing transfer speculation about the winger’s next destination.
Barcelona’s relationship with the 24-year-old seems to have broken down spectacularly, with coach Xavi saying he felt cheated.
Director of football Mateu Alemany also slammed Dembele for failure to show commitment to the club.
'We understand Dembele's decision is to not continue (at Barca) and we've communicated our decision (to leave him out),' Alemany said.
'We want players that are committed to the club and we have told him he has to leave the club as soon as possible.
Having told Dembele that he needed to leave the club as soon as possible, Barcelona were hit with a legal warning on the same day.
Xavi went on to issue Dembele an ultimatum – to either commit to the club or be sold before the close of the January transfer window.
Because of the uncertainty at Barca, Dembele was excluded from the squad in the Copa del Rey against Athletic Bilbao.
In a response to the manner Barcelona was handling the Dembele situation, Sissoko accused the club of ‘driving the former Borussia Dortmund player away.
Barca have already completed the signing of Ferran Torres, who can comfortably fill the shoes of Dembele if the Frenchman eventually leaves.
With his agent receiving a call from PSG’s director, while at the airport, it now looks like Paris is his most likely destination.
