Judging by what is said about his coaching style, Orlando Pirates fans have a lot to be excited about regarding their team's new coach Jose Riveiro.
His announcement was met with skepticism and hesitance because of his lack of name recognition, having been a coach in the Finnish league at FC Inter Turku.
Soccer Laduma reported that the 44-year-old Riveiro will coach the club for the next three years.
According to The Citizen, Finnish football journalist Mikko Knuuttila said on SAFM that he expects Pirates could play like Manchester City in terms of tactics and formation.

Knuttila said:
“What I can say is that he is a coach with a good tactical nous, very gifted tactically. He is also not afraid to change, he started with a 4-3-3 and then changed to 3-4-3. He plays passing, possession, attacking football with the ball. He doesn’t like his teams to rush the ball.
“Actually he’s like a typical Spanish coach, you can expect a similar kind of football played at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola."

Riveiro joined the club from Finnish team FC Inter Turku, having previously worked as an assistant coach with HJK Helsinki, PK-35 and FC Honka. It was reported that he guided FC Inter to runners-up finishes in 2019 and 2020, while they finished in third place in 2021.
