FootballOrlando Pirates Chairman Irvin Khoza Gives Gabadinho Mhango Blessing to Leave the Club if Necessary
- Wantaway Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho is a man on the way out of the club judging by the latest reports in the media
- The Malawian star has been on the periphery of the squad, whether on the sidelines or the wider squad, for much of the season
- His agent has come forward and confirmed that Mhango has received the blessing of the club's chairman
Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango's agent has confirmed that club chairman Irvin Khoza has given him his blessing to take the player elsewhere.
This if the Malawian star forward does not form part of the technical team's plans for next season. Mhango's agent is the renowned Mike Makaab, who led the Buccaneers to league and continental glory in 1994 and 1995 respectively.
As reported on Soccer Laduma, Mhango has had a difficult season with the Buccaneers, having to watch a lot of their games from the bench, even after his star performances for Malawi at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon earlier this year.
In fact, after he stood head and shoulders above his Malawian teammates at the continental showpiece, there was this belief his season would finally kickoff, but he has not quite convinced the technical team to give him a regular shout in the starting line-up, as was stated on Kick Off.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits player, who joined Pirates in 2019, has made 10 appearances in all competitions and has not found the back of the net. He has registered one assist.
Mike Makaab said to Soccer Laduma:
"I've met with the chairman (Khoza) and a lot will depend on whether the technical staff see Gaba as part of the plans for the new season. If not, and we should know very soon, then the chairman has given me his blessing to look for another club for Gaba, as long as the deal is a fair deal for both Pirates and the player, then I think we can probably do something."

The writing is on the wall as Malawi star Gabadinho Mhango prepares for his Orlando Pirates exit
In what might be the most unsurprising transfer news, Gabadinho Mhango's unhappy union with Orlando Pirates is reportedly coming to an end.
As reported on Sports Brief, Mhango has been on the periphery of the match day squads all season since co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids took over from Josef Zinnbauer at the beginning of the season.
Ironically, during his exclusion, Mhango was outstanding for Malawi at the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which has made his non-inclusion more perplexing.
