It appears that impressive Orlando Pirates and Nigeria defender Olisa Ndah has caught the eye of European suitors.
Ndah was away on duty with the Super Eagles at the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, through he did not make an appearance in the tournament. Nigeria were knocked out in a last 16 clash against Tunisia, losing 1-0 last night.
According to Phakathi, a source of the publication said that scouts were seen at Nigeria's training sessions in Cameroon, though they weren't named.
The source was quoted as saying:
“Apparently they took notice of him last season while he was playing in Nigeria and they followed him in Cameroon. No one knows what will happen but everyone seems to think he is good enough for a move overseas.
“From what I have read about him in South Africa, I think he is doing well there as well. But we will wait and see what happens.”
Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah praised for making Super Eagles Afcon squad
Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah's inclusion in Nigeria's 2021 African Cup of Nations' squad has been met praise and glee, though a fear might just come to reality for club supporters.
The 24-year-old has impressed since joining the Buccaneers in August from the Nigerian Premier League's Akwa United, and it was only a matter of time before he caught the eye of Super Eagles' selectors. He had made only two appearances for the national team thus far since making his debut back in 2019.
While some were happy for his selection, others feared that he'd be seen at the tournament by overseas scouts, leading to his sooner-than-desired departure from Pirates.
