Olympique Marseille had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Brest in their second French Ligue 1 of the new season staged at Stade Francis-Le Ble on Sunday, August 14.
Marseille kicked off their new campaign with a 4-1 win over Reims last weekend and were hoping to build on the momentum during their trip to Brest.
However, Igor Tudor's charges were unable to get a favourable result as they dropped points away from home.
Brest, meanwhile, were looking to bag their first point(s) of the season, having suffered a 3-2 narrow defeat against Lens in their own season opener.

How Brest frustrated Marseille
The two sides were unable to find the back of the net in the opening 30 minutes of the clash, with each side struggling to break the deadlock.
However, Marseille finally managed to score the opener through Nuno Tavares, who is at the club on loan from Arsenal.
This was Tavares' second goal for Les Olympiens since joining them in the summer, having also scored on his debut against Reims.
Meanwhile, his side's lead was short-lived as the hosts drew level in the 68th minute through Pierre Lees-Melou.
Neither club was able to find a winner for the remainder of the tie, settling for a 1-1 draw at full-time.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Neymar continued his outstanding run of form at the start of this season with a brace, while Kylian Mbappe marked his return to the side with a goal as Paris Saint-Germain trounced Montpellier 5-2 in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Mbappe had a first-half penalty saved in his first competitive outing of the campaign after suspension and injury, but he made up for that by converting following a Neymar corner in the second half.
Earlier, Falaye Sacko's own goal gave PSG a 39th-minute lead at the Parc des Princes, and Neymar netted a spot-kick to make it 2-0 at the break.
