  • Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could be heading to the Premier League at the end of the ongoing season
  • This is according to former Chelsea gaffer Glenn Hoddle who claimed that the Blues need the Nigerian
  • Chelsea will however go into competition with clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal who also want Osimhen

Glenn Hoddle who coached Premier League side Chelsea between 1993-1996 has urged those in charge of the Stamford Bridge club to make sure they sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is currently the target of many clubs in Europe considering his performances this term having netted 25 goals for Napoli in all competitions.

In the history of the Serie A, no Nigerian player has ever won the Golden Boot and Osimhen now looks set to break the record.

According to a report on Complete Sports, Hoddle made it clear that Osimhen can help the Blues net more goals next season if they can get him signed.

Hoddle wants Osimhen at Chelsea

“Without a doubt, Osimhen is number one, but there are a few clubs after him. But if you put him in a Chelsea shirt, he will score a load of goals.
''You need someone who you think is going to score 20 goals for you, a fox in the box, someone who wants to be in that area where they’re creating so much.”

Sacchi's statement about Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Italian professional coach, Arrigo Sacchi claimed that Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen would have also struggled if he had featured in the AC Milan clash.

To the surprise of many, Napoli, who are leading Serie A suffered an embarrassing 4-0 home defeat against the defending champions on April 2, in a tie that Osimhen missed due to injury.

The on-form forward was reported to have been injured while playing for the Super Eagles in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Napoli started the encounter impressively with fans expecting them to record big win over their visitors, but the opposite happened.
