Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on Saturday, 11 March, provided an assist for Napoli in their 2-0 win over Atalanta in what was a challenging Serie A battle which the hosts won.

Going into the encounter, Osimhen was tipped by many Nigerian fans for him to net against Ademola Lookman and his teammates, but he was unable to find the back of the net.

According to the report on Naija Footballer, Napoli opened scoring in the 60th minute through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who was assisted by Osimhen.

The report added that Osimhen's effort was his fourth league assist this season for Napoli.

Amir Rrahmani scored the winner for Napoli in the 77th minute.

Meanwhile, Napoli have now extended their lead on the Serie A table with 18 points.

Osimhen and the 22-year-old have formed one of the best partnerships in Serie A this season, combining for 33 goals and 19 assists for the Naples outfit.

Their incredible performances for Napoli has helped the club lead the Italian top flight league table and many believe they will go all the way to win the title this season.

Out of these 33 goals, Osimhen registered 19, with Kvaratskhelia providing six assists for the Nigerian strongman.
