Victor Osimhen has paid tribute to the legacies of Diego Armando Maradona on social media after the Nigerian forward wore the Argentine’s jersey.
Maradona is arguably considered one of the best players to have played football in the 80s and early 90s and won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986.
According to Pulse Sports, the Argentine legend made his name in Europe when he played for Napoli between 1984 to 1991, scoring a total of 115 goals in a total of 251 appearances and also winning the league title twice.
Osimhen who is now a fan favourite at Napoli after emerging as the club’s top scorer in the Serie A this season, honoured Maradona with a post on his Instagram page.
The Super Eagles forward who is a big fan of Maradona has revealed he plans to emulate the now-deceased legend by fighting for the Serie A title with Napoli next season.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported Victor Osimhen is now Napoli’s 44th all-time scorer after the Nigerian international bagged his 28th goal for the club since he arrived in the summer of 2020.
The youngster found the back of the net in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Genoa when he opened the scoring in the 32nd minute inside the Diego Amando Maradona Stadium.
It was his 14th league goal of the ongoing campaign which takes his tally in all competitions this season to 18 thereby becoming the club’s 44th all-time top scorer.
