FootballCristiano Ronaldo Doubtful for Crystal Palace Clash After Injuring Knee During Siiu Celebration
- Ronaldo reportedly injured himself while celebrating in the clash against Arsenal
- The Portugal superstar is a serious doubt for Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace
- The Sunday clash will be Rangnick’s first game as United’s interim coach
Manchester United’s top scorer this season Cristiano Ronaldo is a major doubt for the Sunday Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
In his first press conference, Rangnick promised to get the best out of 36-year old Cristiano, but it now seems he will have to wait a bit to start his CR7 project.
Reports from The Sun suggest Ronaldo might have injured his knee during goal celebrations in the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday, December 2.
Ronaldo scored twice against Arsenal, and his second goal from the penalty spot proved to be the winner in the classic encounter.
In celebration, Ronaldo did his classic ‘Siiu’ celebration which involves jumping in the air before doing a 360 turn.
He was substituted in the 88th minute and walked awkwardly off the pitch when he came off, prompting reports that he might not be fit enough to feature against Palace.
What Rangnick said about Cristiano
There were initial suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo might not fit into Rangnick’s traditional pressing style of play, especially because of his age.
But Rangnick, in his first presser as United’s interim boss, put those reports to bed, saying:
“Having seen Cristiano against Arsenal in the second half at the age of 36, he is an amazing top professional.
“At his age, I've never seen a player who is still that physically fit. He's still a player who can easily make the difference.
“So yes, it's about how we can develop the whole team, not only Cristiano. We play in the most competitive league in the world so we need all the players on board.

FootballIf indeed United miss out on Cristiano’s services against Crystal Palace, it will mean a huge adjustment for Rangnick in his debut.
Ronaldo, who recently surpassed the 800 career goal mark, is the side’s top scorer this season and has come up with some important goals for his side since his move back to the club in August.
Edinson Cavani still remains absent through injury, while Greenwood is in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.
That leaves Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard as the most plausible attacking options.
