The ten Hag dance

Afterwards, ten Hag was spotted joining a dance with forward, Antony and defender, Lisandro Martinez. Both players were wrapped in the flags of their respective countries.

He was then asked about the dance and tactician quipped:

"We have our history together, the two, Licha and Antony, in Amsterdam we did some dancing. I hope we can do some more in the future. Therefore we have to invest, sacrifice, every day," ten Hag said as quoted by Laurie Whitwell.

It was an exquisite performance from Man United, who had to sit back from a prodding Magpies side.

United chase the 'quadruple dream'

The hunt for the quadruple remains alive for United. They play West Ham United in the next round of the FA Cup on Wednesday before facing Liverpool in the Premier League next weekend.

They are currently on 49 points, eight points off league leaders Arsenal.

The other possible route for silverware this season will be in the Europa League, where they are set to face Real Betis in the round of 16 after seeing off Barcelona in the playoff round.

Phil Jones on punditry duty

Sports Brief reported on fans being left in hysterics on February 23, at the sight of Phil Jones on punditry duty for the Carabao Cup final involving Man United and Newcastle.

Some fans may not be aware, but the defender is still on contract and is technically still a member of the Red Devils squad.

However, a series of injures and fitness concerns have kept Jones from ten Hag’s squad and he is yet to make an appearance this season.
