It came as a rude shock to everyone after Liverpool announced they have reached an agreement with Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven, for the transfer of young winger Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool had just beaten Aston Villa 3-1 when the announcement came out, but it was not only Villa that was beaten, but the Reds also beat archrivals Manchester United to the signing of the World Cup star.
Manchester United fans had mixed reactions on the transfer, with some lashing out at their club for missing out on the young talent, while others were of the opinion, he is not a needed addition to their squad.
Erik Ten Hag, while failing to comment directly on the transfer, expressed confidence in his group of attackers claiming they are work in progress and should gel once they work together more.

No regrets for Ten Hag
Speaking to the media after United's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, as quoted by the Independent, he said he is not looking at other teams when asked on the Gakpo transfer.
“I’m not looking at other teams, I am looking at our team. I am convinced of the squad we have, the players in our team, they have the capabilities, individually and as a team, to compete with all of those teams,” he said.
He praised his front four of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Antony for their role in the win and believes they will get better with more games together.
