  • United are keen to reinforce their attack in January following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure
  • Erik ten Hag admires Pulisic for his versatility on either both flanks or in the central position

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has been linked with a stunning January move to rivals Manchester United.

The American international is said to have set his sights on departing Stamford Bridge, following his tumultuous spell with the Blues.

Pulisic has found playing time hard to come by, since falling down the pecking order under former boss Thomas Tuchel.

The arrival of Graham Potter has not changed his fortunes either, with the former Borussia Dortmund winger struggling to break into the Englishman's starting XI.

The winger, who is in his fourth year with Chelsea, has seen injuries and managerial turmoil take a huge toll on his spell with the west London club.

According to reports, Man United are exploring the chance of offering him an escape route to Old Trafford, ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Metro UK reports that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is keen on adding the Chelsea star to his ranks to bolster his attack. The club are in the market for another forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the Theatre of Dreams last week.

Ronaldo's departure means that Anthony Martial is the only available centre-forward, leaving ten Hag with no choice but to shop for additions.

While Pulisic is traditionally a winger, reports claim that his tactical flexibility, which allows him to play on both flanks and in a central position, has pushed ten Hag to shortlist him for a role at the club.

Having failed to land the American in the summer, it remains to be seen if Man United will be in a position to sign him in January.

Chelsea to take Nkunku risk

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea will sign Christopher Nkunku, a transfer that is considered a major risk after he withdrew from France's World Cup squad due to knee ligament injury.

The deal was wrapped up at the end of the last summer window, with the Blues reportedly more than willing to meet his release clause of £52.5m.

Chelsea are in the market for attackers, with Nkunku, Rafael Leao and Arsen Zakharyan high on their list, amid the possible departures of Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.
