Elanga responds to Ronaldo

According to the Mirror, Ronaldo said that young footballers these days are distracted by technology, and lack the same focus and hunger as he did, using his own 12-year-old son to draw comparison.

"I don't mean that they don't respect the more experienced players or the older players, but they live in a different era... The mentality is not the same, they are not suffering."

Elanga stressed that his opinion of Ronaldo would not change, despite everything the superstar said in the interview.

Speaking to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, via MEN, Elanga said he understood what the legendary forward meant about young players in general.

He agreed it was quite simple for young players to become distracted by mobile devices and technology, and thus lose focus.

"I always focus 100 per cent on my job and what I do. Young players at United are listening, but I can understand what he is saying."

Ronaldo's dream World Cup final

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronaldo revealing his dream final encounter for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Portugal star revealed his desire to meet his Manchester United teammate Casemiro's Brazil in the final of the Mundial.

Ronaldo also spoke about his team’s chances, where he boldly declared he would love to come up against Brazil for the World Cup trophy.
