The aftermath of the earth-shattering Cristiano Ronaldo interview continues to deliver aftershocks several hours later.

The 37-year-old was unforgiving in the interview with Piers Morgan, dropping several shocking revelations about Manchester United, Erik ten Hag and Wayne Rooney. He also launched an astonishing attack on ex-United interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick was appointed to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked in late November last year after a terrible start to the season, which saw them lose 5-0 to Liverpool and 4-1 to Watford, according to the Guardian.

Ronaldo rips into Rangnick

In the interview, Ronaldo revealed he was baffled that the club decided to hire the former RB Leipzig coach, according to the Daily Mail.

"After Ole, they bring in sport directive Ralf Rangnick, which is something nobody understands. This guy is not even a coach. A big club like Manchester United bringing in a sport directive surprised not only me but all the world. 'If you’re not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I’d never even heard of him."

The current manager of the Austrian national team has coached the likes of Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and Leipzig in the Bundesliga and is known for developing several teams.

Rangnick was supposed to take up a consultancy role with the club, something which never materialised. Reports indicate that he held talks with Ronaldo about employing tactics to help Ronaldo get some form.

Sports Brief earlier reported on Manchester United fans calling for Ronaldo to leave the club after the explosive interview.

Ronaldo brutally slammed Manchester United’s hierarchy, Erik ten Hag and their former interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

The 37-year-old said in the interview that United made him “the black sheep” and several elements at the club wanted him out.
