Well turns out that his then three-month-old baby girl was ill and he was therefore forced to skip the Thailand and Australia tours.
This is according to the celebrated striker, who has given his side of the story in a series of explosive attacks on the club.
Ronaldo sat down for an interview with Piers Morgan to lift a lid on various issues, key among them his relationship with ten Hag. And boy, he did not hold back.

Family issue
He has explained that he was being forced out of the club and he had no intention of leaving. He only skipped training to be closer to his family. Credit to Manchester United, though, at that time, they had mentioned that it was a family issue that had kept Ronaldo away.
As Daily Mail reports, Ronaldo now says that the club showed no empathy at all. Ronaldo had revealed that he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez had gotten twins, but their son died during birth on April 18th.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has also revealed that the Royal Family sent him a note after the passing of his son.
