  • Armando Broja was involved in a tussle with Manchester United's midfielder Scott McTominay seconds before a penalty was awarded
  • McTominay wrapped his hands around the striker as he went down inside the penalty area during a clash between the two sides at Stamford Bridge
  • Jorginho slotted the resultant penalty past David De Gea to give Chelsea a lead that was shortlived

Interesting footage shows that Scott McTominay was constantly nudged by Chelsea striker Armando Broja before the former conceded a penalty.

McTominay hauled down Broja in the dying minutes of Chelsea's encounter vs Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on October 22nd.

The game was evenly poised at 0-0 before McTominay, who came on as a second-half substitute, wrapped his hands around Broja. Referee Stuart Atwell immediately pointed to the spot, with the Video Assistant Referee confirming the on-field decision.

But, just before the incident, which came from a Chelsea corner, Broja was seen pushing McTominay around in the penalty area. The midfielder might have been incensed as the corner was swung in as he brought the lanky striker tumbling down.

Broja's actions notwithstanding, McTominay's hands around the striker was a clear foul which left the referee little to no choice, as Chelsea legend turned pundit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink opines.

"He has two hands around him. What is bad if you look to the arms, and that makes it bad if he pulls him down. I don't know. Broja may make the most of it. McTominay can't put himself in that position," as quoted by the Daily Mail.

Jorginho ended up scoring the resulting penalty, but Casemiro cancelled out the goal in stoppage time as both teams walked out with a point.

Chelsea fans insist Casemiro's goal shouldn't have stood

Sports Brief has also reported that a section of Chelsea fans has claimed that Casemiro's equaliser for Manchester United during their clash at Stamford Bridge should not have been allowed to stand.

The two English giants settled for a 1-1 draw during the Saturday evening clash, with Casemiro earning United a vital point at stoppage time.

Both teams played out a goalless draw in the first half before Jorginho broke the deadlock in the 87th minute from the penalty spot.
