FootballAjax Manager Aims Champions League Dig At Man United When Asked About Antony
- Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has thrown a Champions League shade at Manchester United following the Premier League club's keen interest in landing Antony
- Man United have seen multiple offers for their target rejected by Ajax but it is understood that the Red Devils will continue to press ahead with their move this week
- Antony abstained from Ajax’s 1-0 victory against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday and refused to turn up to training last week in an apparent attempt to force through a move to United
Ajax trainer Alfred Schreuder took a swipe at Manchester United while reminding Antony he will be missing the UEFA Champions League if he opts to join the Premier League side.
United boss Erik ten Hag, who worked with Antony at Ajax, is keen to bring the Brazilian winger to Old Trafford but Ajax are standing firm over their €100 million (£84.8 million) valuation for their prized asset.
But Schreuder is not enthusiastic about the Premier League club's persistent interest in the 22-year-old as he provided updates about the future of the Brazilian forward.
In doing so, he made a sly jab at the fact that Man United, who will be participating in the Europa League, are without Champions League football this season.

He said via Metro: "I want Antony to stay. I am assuming that the club will not sell him. The money that is being thrown around these days is crazy. But I would not find it okay if we sell another player. We are in a powerful position, financially.
"I understand Antony. But you play for Ajax. We are playing Champions League football. I don't think Man United are playing Champions League football."
