According to Malacia, he sought the opinion of the legendary Premier League forward on what it would mean for him to move to Old Trafford.

“I talked to him (Van Persie) about the club and the city. About places to live," the youngster told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Incidentally, Malacia, just like Van Persie, also went through Feyenoord's academy as he grew through the ranks.

“He (Van Persie) was a lad who came from the academy at Feyenoord, too - just like me. That's why I got an extra feeling with this club," the Netherlands international divulged.

Malacia, who plays as a left-back, will now be competing with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles for a spot in the starting XI.

Ex-Man United keeper wants Old Trafford return

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Sergio Romero is considering a sensational return to Manchester United this summer.

The Argentine quit the Red Devils for free about a year ago after spending six seasons with them.

His departure came after falling out of favour, with David de Gea and Dean Henderson ahead of him in the pecking order at the time.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent once again following Venezia's relegation from Serie A.
