Man United's first summer signing, Tyrell Malacia, has spoken for the first time after sealing his Old Trafford move.
Malacia was initially slated to join French giants Lyon before the Red Devils hijacked the transfer in a move that saw him join the Premier League side instead.
According to Mirror UK, United secured the services of the 22-year-old Dutch international from Feyenoord in a £13million deal.
Malacia reveals Robin van Persie's role in Man United move
The Dutchman has now revealed that former Man United striker Robin van Persie actually played a role in his decision to choose the Red Devils over Lyon.

According to Malacia, he sought the opinion of the legendary Premier League forward on what it would mean for him to move to Old Trafford.
“I talked to him (Van Persie) about the club and the city. About places to live," the youngster told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
Incidentally, Malacia, just like Van Persie, also went through Feyenoord's academy as he grew through the ranks.
“He (Van Persie) was a lad who came from the academy at Feyenoord, too - just like me. That's why I got an extra feeling with this club," the Netherlands international divulged.
