The English Premier League 2022/2023 schedule has been released with reigning champions Manchester City playing away at West Ham United on the opening match day while Manchester United host Brighton.
It will be a tough start for new United boss Erik Ten Hag after the Red Devils endured a nightmare 2021/2022 season finishing with their lowest points of the Premier League era.
Manchester City won the title on the final day of last season coming from two goals down to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 to edge Liverpool in the thrilling race.
After their opening game against Brighton, United then travel to Brentford in the second game before facing Liverpool in their third game of the season.
United's first 10 matches of the campaign also include trips to Leicester and Everton as well as a home game vs Arsenal.
The first Manchester derby of the season comes on October 1 at the Etihad, with the Old Trafford fixture set for January 14.
The 2022-23 season kicks off with Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal on Friday, August 5 and then a further programme of seven matches on Saturday, including Frank Lampard's Everton hosting former club Chelsea.
Salah ignores mane in his dream team
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Mohamed Salah has made some surprise picks in his five-a-side team.
The Liverpool star was asked to pick his teammates by Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand. Salah surprisingly opted for Robert Firmino over Sadio Mane in his team that was laden with attackers.
Salah is off from another fine season after winning both the Golden Boot and the Playmaker award after scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists respectively.
