Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek has reportedly been offered to Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma, despite the arrival of his former manager Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton, but his spell was underwhelming as he struggled with injuries and consistency.
He is set to return to Manchester United following the end of his loan spell with the Toffees, but there is a possibility the Dutchman could be on the move yet again.
According to Corriere della Sera via Express, the midfielder is willing to give up his Manchester United dream and move to Roma, who recently secured the inaugural Europa Conference League.
Before moving to Manchester United, Van de Beek was quite exceptional for Ajax under Ten Hag, and was part of the squad that reached the Champions League semi finals in 2019.
At the time, Van de Beek formed a formidable partnership in midfield alongside Frenkie de Jong, who has since moved to Barcelona.
Interestingly, United are also keenly monitoring De Jong’s situation and are willing to acquire the Dutchman from Barca.
The Catalan giants would be willing to part ways with the Dutchman, especially because of the club’s current financial situation which has them needing to slash their wage bill considerably.
Ten Hag’s stance on Van de Beek
Ten Hag, in a recent interview, made it clear that he was looking forward to working with Van de Beek once again.

Dembele set to join Chelsea
In other transfer news, Chelsea are set to finally acquire their long-term target Ousmanne Dembele, after the Frenchman reportedly snubbed a move to Paris Saint Germain.
The 25-year-old’s contract at Barcelona is set to run out at the end of June, and Chelsea are poised to sign him on a free transfer.
Barcelona are set to be the biggest losers in the deal, having signed Dembele from Borussia Dortmund for a staggering £125million back in 2017.
