FootballPep Guardiola Eyes Sensational Move to Sign Manchester United Midfielder Paul Pogba
- Premier League champions Manchester City are keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer
- Paul Pogba's contract with the Red Devils will expire at the end of the season after joining them from Juventus for £89million
- The Frenchman remains Manchester United's record signing but he has been unable to deliver consistently at Old Trafford
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is weighing up a sensational move to sign French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba is poised to leave Manchester United later this month after he becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
As per reports filed by the Daily Mail, Guardiola wants to sign Pogba on a free transfer for Manchester City in the summer.
Paul Pogba is reportedly open to staying in the Premier League and would not rule out joining City.
If the deal goes through, it will mirror Carlos Tevez's infamous move from Old Trafford to the Etihad back in 2009.
Guardiola sees Pogba as the ideal replacement for versatile central midfielder Fernandinho who will leave the Etihad once the season ends.
Transfer regulations state City cannot make a formal offer to the Manchester United midfielder till the season ends. However, they do have the financial muscle needed to tempt Pogba with wages higher than the £290,000-per-week he receives at United.

Pogba was injured in Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool and has already been ruled out from the rest of the season. He mentions that the new dance style is part of the recovery.
The French star is set to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer. He is yet to agree to new terms with the Red Devils and it is expected he will seek a move elsewhere.
