The Dutchman's arrival comes at a time United have endured a frustrating 2021/22 season that will see them end the campaign without a trophy.

Mirror UK reports a massive summer rebuild now awaits Ten Hag, with United chiefs expected to hand him a transfer budget of £200million to rebuild the squad in his image.

According to the publication, the massive rebuild will see a number of big names at Old Trafford shown the door.

Nearly a dozen of players have been tipped to exit United, with some of them expected to leave for nothing after the expiry of their deals at the end of the season.

Paul Pogba headlines a list of senior players set for departure, with the Frenchman billed to leave for free after the expiry of his contract.

Other players out of contract include Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, and Lee Grant.

Eric Bailly, Phil Jones facing uncertain futures

With the midfield set for a shakeup, defense is the other department set for a massive shakeup.

The defensive duo of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are both expected to be offloaded, with right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka also facing an uncertain future after a difficult season that has seen him relegated to the bench.

Alex Telles could also be shown the door having failed to offer Luke Shaw proper competition on the left flank, while Anthony Martial is sure to depart following his loan switch to Sevilla.

Ten Hag promises to deliver trophies at Man United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Erik ten Hag has pledged to lead Manchester United back to their glory days following his confirmation as the club's new manager.

The Ajax manager is set to officially take charge at Old Trafford at the end of the season, with interim boss Ralf Rangnick taking up a consultancy role.

Ten Hag's switch to Man United comes at a time the Premier League club are in tatters, with the side in danger of missing out on a Champions League spot.
