While speaking to French newspaper Le Figaro, Pogba admitted he had experienced depression a few times in his career, but kept it under wraps mainly because of his high profile.

I've experienced depression many times in my career, but you don't talk about it, he said.

"Sometimes, you don't know you're depressed, you only want to isolate yourself, be alone, and these are signs that don't deceive.
"Personally, it started when I was with Jose Mourinho in Manchester. You ask yourself questions, wonder if you're at fault, because you have never lived moments like these in your life."

Having made a £89m return to Manchester United in 2016, Pogba hit the ground running at the club, winning the league cup and Europa League with Jose Mourinho, who coincidentally took over at Old Trafford from Louis Van Gaal in 2016.

Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho however started to deteriorate in 2018, with the Portuguese telling him that he would never captain Manchester United again during his tenure as manager.

“We are not superheroes”

Pogba went on to disclose that footballers normally experienced depression but the pressures to perform and live up to fans’ expectations often led to them not talking about the issue.

"Of course we earn a lot of money and we don't complain, really. But that does not prevent you from going through these moments in your life - like the whole world - which are more difficult than others.
"In football it is not acceptable but we are not superheroes, we are only human beings." He went on.

On how he copes with mental issues, Pogba revealed he mainly speaks to three people; former Man United left-back Patrice Evra, his wife and his son.

Pogba open to PSG move

In the same interview, Pogba spoke on his future where he strongly hinted at possibly joining Paris Saint Germain in future

The Frenchman, whose current contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the current campaign, says he would love to play alongside some of his national teammates on club level.
